I have to admit, I’ve never been the most consistent blogger but I really hope that’s going to change this year. I’ve been thinking for a while about bringing change to my blog and give it a makeover. I'm SO happy with the outcome and feel it's a fresh start for my blog. I want to document more of what I get up to with my besties, what outfits I wear and share it so I have something to look back on in years to come. There’s something about taking pictures and writing that I find incredibly relaxing and satisfying.

I can’t wait to share with you all what I'm baking, holidays, beauty, everyday style and giveaways. I shall be posting once a week on Sundays to start with and go from there. I’m just so excited to get back at having my little place on the internet which I hope you enjoy reading!

Oufit Of The Day - Bernie & Peach

Would you believe that this is my first Bernie Dexter dress? I don't know what took me so long but I finally caved and snagged this Lily Pinup in blue toile number on Bernie's eBay store for a steal! I was a little unsure of the sizing because I'm heavy in the bust area and have a small waist but I found this fits perfectly.

I could have gone a size smaller but seeing as this was my first one I didn't want to risk it. I always find going by measurement/size can be a little tricky, especially if you're smaller in some areas than others. I found the material light weight and well made like a true 50's dress. I look forward to adding more to my collection...

I also wore my giant peach brooch by Luxulite seeing as Spring is finally here! Woohoo!

Dress with belt - Bernie Dexter
Shoes - Bait footwear
Brooch - Luxulite
Petticoat - eBay

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! What are your plans?

Outfit Of The Day - Lilac & Hearts

This is actually an outfit from last weekend and the weather was glorious which was a great opportunity to take some photos outside in our tiny courtyard. We actually had a cinema date that afternoon and I wanted to dress up for the occasion.

I absolutely love Pinup Girl Clothing so as I was going for a pastel outfit I had to wear my lavender jenny dress teamed with my jumbo heart brooch by Luxulite. I love jenny dresses so much because they are super comfortable to wear I just had to do a little twirl!

I was super excited to see that Pinup Girl revealed the new Mary Blair collection along with the new designs for the Fairytale Fantasy both coming soon!! I can't wait to own a piece or two that I've added to my wish list!

Outfit Details

Cardigan Primark

Do you own any PUG? Who's excited for the new Mary Blair and Fairytale Fantasy Spring collection?

Lucky Dip Club Unboxing #5

Hello everyone! How is it February already!? The past few weeks I've been on the hunt for a new blog design and really wanted it done before I started posting again but time has got the better of me! I'm still in search for the perfect design and hope to find one soon that looks more... well me. Any recommendations?

Tonight I'm doing my un-boxing of the fabulous Lucky Dip Club and although I say this every month this is the best box so far!!! The months theme for January was 'Valley of the Unicorns' and just saying that brings excitement to mind! I love anything and everything pastel and to have unicorns as well gosh it's just a dream combo in my eyes. January seemed to drag on forever and I totally forgot we had our December boxes early in time for Christmas but that meant waiting 6 long weeks for our next one. I squealed with glee when I got home from work as I noticed my box on the floor.

Here is what I got inside -

Ok so anyone that knows me or is a regular reader will know how much I love pastel AND unicorns so I jumped up like a 5 year old when I first saw the I Love Crafty brooch!!! I've been a huge fan of Laura's amazing creations on Etsy so I'm happy to have my first piece<3 To mark the un-boxing of this months theme I wore my sparkle nail polish from Topshop called Unicorn ;)

Fabulous personalised 'Lulu' unicorn necklace that I cannot wait to wear a ton this year! Mini note pads for doodles & dreams. Mine will include writing a wish list to visit Disney for my birthday next year and hang out with all my Instagram ladies who love it too! Maybe it will come true and if it does who's coming? A pretty illustrated unicorn postcard that I'm going to frame and a fun sticker sheet. The sticker sheet includes pastel flags & unicorns to turn into cake toppers. Yep. Day made.

Here is the full details of what was inside -

  • I Love Crafty unicorn brooch
  • Personalised 'Lulu' unicorn necklace
  • Unicorn postcard
  • Unicorn sticker sheet
  • Doodle & dreams note pad
  • Zine letter that can also be used as wrapping paper or a poster
I felt like a kid at Disneyland opening this box as everything inside was a delight to open. My favourite item would have to be between the unicorn brooch and the necklace. I wore my brooch on a trip to Liverpool last weekend and got a few compliments from some sweet ladies. I also love the new zine letter that's now featured in each box. It tells you all about the contents of the box, who's contributed, give-away's, fantastic ideas on what to do with your content and a little blurb from the lady herself.

Lovely Leona of LDC frequently holds a competitions on Instagram to win some goodies and this year started the chance to win a mega box for this months theme which is Love Hearts and Lipstick. I was SUPER excited and happy to find out I won on the train home the other day!! I can't wait to see what's inside! This means not only will I be un-boxing my February box for you but also my mega box! Whoop!!! Thank you Leona if your reading this!!! :)

If you're new to my blog or just missed any previous LDC posts and don't know what I'm going on about go to my first un-boxing here to find out all the details. If you love cute stationary, kitsch personalised accessories, overall cute stuff and want a surprise of goodies every month get yourself a box!! I highly recommend getting the monthly subscription so you don't miss out. Set your alarm for 7am on the 1st of every month to get your box!!!

In the mean time check out Sookie enjoying my box... or rather taking over as always and posing!!!

(I am not being paid by any of the mentioned companies or designers to make this post, unless I state C/O. The views in this post are strictly my own and I am not affiliated with any of these companies.)

Easy DIY Christmas Peppermint Bark

As its Christmas Eve eve I thought I'd show you a super easy last minute sweet treat idea for your loved ones. These are really delicious and will be gone within minutes! Here's what you will need...

200g White chocolate
200g Milk chocolate
6 Peppermint candy canes (or which ever ones you prefer)
Festive sprinkles
Clear cellophane self-seal bags
Greaseproof paper

Makes approx 8 bags
Time: 1 hour

Firstly break the milk chocolate into small pieces and add to a heatproof bowl. Add a little boiling water to a saucepan and heat until simmering. Suspend the bowl over the simmering water, but don't allow the base of the bowl to touch the water. Heat the chocolate, stirring regularly, until almost completely melted, then remove from the heat; the residual heat of the bowl will melt any remaining lumps so it doesn't burn. Leave to cool for 5 minutes.

Next place the greaseproof paper onto a flat baking sheet and carefully pour the melted milk chocolate onto the baking sheet. Using a spatula spread the chocolate evenly over the baking sheet and pop into the fridge to set for about 15-20 minutes.

Repeat the first process to melt the white chocolate. Once the milk chocolate has hardened remove from the fridge. Pour the white chocolate on top on the milk chocolate and smooth evenly to cover the bottom.

Next place the candy canes in a food bag and cover with a tea towel. Crush the candy canes with a rolling pin until they're the size you want them. Sprinkle the candy canes pieces and the festive sprinkles over the chocolate. Place back in the fridge to set for a further 15-20 minutes.

Once its set remove from the fridge and break up into pieces. Don't worry if they're not all perfect as we don't want them to be all the same size! Divide 3-4 pieces into the cellophane bags and seal. I added twine onto each one to make it more special. Enjoy!
